Description
Henry/Bakor 810-07 is a solvent-based, non-fibered asphalt coating formulated for damp-proofing and for preserving metal and smooth asphalt roofing. It lays down as a medium-viscosity film you can brush or spray, creating a continuous barrier that helps block moisture uptake in masonry and concrete and refreshes weathered metal or asphalt roof surfaces. Typical uses range from foundation walls and footings to gutters, flashings, and roll roofing. It’s a dampproofing coating (not a waterproofing system for hydrostatic pressure).
Features
Dampproofing performance: Reduces moisture absorption and migration through masonry and concrete substrates.
Versatile roof preservative: Helps protect and rejuvenate smooth asphalt roofs, metal roofs, gutters, and flashings. Brush or spray application: Medium paint consistency supports uniform coverage by brush or spray equipment.
Chemical resistance: Cured film resists water, road salts (e.g., calcium chloride), and mild acidic or alkaline solutions. (Not resistant to oils or solvents.)
Standards: Complies with CGSB 37-GP-6M (Canadian General Standards Board).
Applications
Use 810-07 to:
Damp-proof foundation walls, retaining walls, wing walls, abutments, and culverts prior to backfilling.
Preserve new or weathered metal and smooth asphalt roofing, including gutters and metal flashings.
Limitations / When not to use: It is not designed to resist water pressure. For applications requiring control of hydrostatic pressure, Henry recommends a waterproofing system (e.g., Bakor 700-01). Only apply to dry surfaces and avoid areas where solvent odour could taint food or sensitive products. Condition material to a warm temperature before use in cold weather.
Specifications
